Creating a Plot
File - AutoCAD 2000-2005.
Why do we prefer plot files?
We would rather have plot (.plt) files
than drawing (.dwg) files for the following reasons.
- Firstly if any special fonts have been
used in the drawing we will need copies of them.
- Secondly if there are externally referenced
files (Xrefs) attached to the drawing we will need those too. We will then
have to set-up the files and this time will be charged for.
With a plot file all we have to do is
plot the file as it is sent to us which is quicker for us and cheaper for you,
plus plot files will zip up smaller than a drawing file.
How to Create a Plot File.
First you need to install a plotter (if
you do not already have one), you do not have to physically attach any equipment.
Once installed you only need to plot to file, save the file and either save
to a CD or attach the file to an email and send it to us for printing.
